AUTHORITY OF SCRIPTURE

FRIDAY, MAY 23
READING: 2 TIMOTHY 3:16 | COLOSSIANS 3:16 | 1 TIMOTHY 3:14-15
This week we have focused on the Authority of Scripture and considered its impact on our faith and practice. While The Great Gap is a real experience and challenge for all of us, we are not forever stuck in the middle. Scripture teaches us that the Spirit will guide us to all truth, and help us walk in obedience as we surrender to GOD and seek to be a true reflection of the image of Christ.
The Bible is reliable, dependable and will guide us to full devotion to Jesus if we will take it in, meditate on it, learn to pray it, and reflect on what it has to teach us. This is what we call INTEGRATION! For most of us this will require some radical changes in the way we arrange the details of our lives to make space for time to be with GOD and His Word!

REFLECTION AND PRAYER
Grab your journal and jot down a few ideas in response to some of these questions:
- What have I learned about the authority of Scripture in my own life?
- How much “authority” do I want the Bible to have in my mind and heart?
- What have I learned about The Gap in my own faith experience?
- What might help me close this gap a bit more?
- What practices will I commit to working with to help guide me through this experience of integrating my beliefs and practices?
