Corona Virus Update 001: An Update From Cam
Thursday, March 12 at 7:00PM

The spread of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, has heightened both concern and awareness in our region. We thought we would just say one or two things about the Coronavirus that has had a devastating affect on many families across the world.

Firstly, we want everyone to continue to live life large and love each other confidently without fear, knowing that Christ is Lord and King. Secondly, we wanted to let you know that we will continue to update you on services, events and serve opportunities as they become available.

In the meantime, we are praying for you and love you.

Corona Virus Update 002: Food Drive
Friday, March 13 at 12:00PM

We want to be a community that anticipates a need and acts before it’s an emergency. With that in mind, we’re collecting boxed meals and canned dinners at all of our campuses, beginning this Sunday.

As you are shopping for your family, please grab a little extra to share! Then, drop off your items in the lobby of your campus in the bin labeled: FOOD DRIVE.

Below are some ideas to get you started:
• Ramen Noodles
• Mac + Cheese
• Chef Boyardee
• Boxed Cereal
• Peanut Butter Crackers

P.S. You can also drop off items directly to P.A.C.K. or the Lighthouse. THANK YOU for being the church! We love you, fam!

Corona Virus Update 003: GO Teams Suspended Until Further Notice
Friday, March 13 at 5:30PM

The US Center for Disease Control (CDC) issued a Global Travel Advisory of Level 3 which means they are encouraging all Americans to ‘Reconsider Travel’ outside the US. The CDC reports that, “Many areas throughout the world are now experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks and taking action that may limit traveler mobility, including quarantines and border restrictions.

Even countries, jurisdictions, or areas where cases have not been reported may restrict travel without notice.” In addition, the US is increasing its limitations for travelers re-entering its borders from other countries and quarantine restrictions.

For this reason, travel for all domestic and international 2020 Compassion GO Teams is suspended until further notice. It is simply not wise or practical at this point for our teams to travel. We do not want to put our teams or our ministry partners at unnecessary risk, but it is also reasonable to presume at this point that our teams would be too limited in their activities to be effective in carrying out ministry in the field.

Practically, what does this mean for you and your team?

  1. If your team was scheduled to travel before May 31, 2020 it is officially postponed. We hope to reschedule these teams at a later date this year when it is reasonable to resume preparation and travel. You will be contacted directly through Managed Missions as soon as more information is available regarding rescheduling.
  2. No steps will be taken to finalize travel plans for ANY GO Team until the restrictions on travel and/or re-entry are lifted for the location of your trip. Essentially, everything related to your GO Team preparation is ‘on pause’ until further notice.
  3. All support raising and financial deadlines for all GO Teams are also suspended. It’s very important that you communicate this information to everyone on your support team. Any donations made to your trip will be held for you to use should your current team end up traveling this year. If your team is cancelled or rescheduled and you cannot travel on the rescheduled dates any donations to your trip will be available for you to use on another team in 2020 or 2021.
  4. All GO Team Formations (meetings) are also suspended.

As soon as any changes are made to the status of your team and it is possible for us to move forward with your team’s travel plans or reschedule we will contact you directly and work through next steps for funding and preparation.

In the meantime, please reach out to your team leader or visit if you have questions or concerns.

Corona Virus Update 004: It’s Your Day Conference Postponement
Friday, March 13 at 10:30PM

Compassion Women, we want to give you an update on #ItsYourDay2020. We have spent a lot of time in prayer and preparation for the upcoming conference and have been SO excited for you to be here with us!

However, in light of the growing national concerns and the request of Governor Kemp to cancel mass gatherings and prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the leadership of Compassion Christian Church has decided to postpone It’s Your Day.

We intend to reschedule the conference at a later date once we know how long the coronavirus will affect our community. All registrants will receive an email with postponement details and how to request a refund if you are unable to join us at our rescheduled date.

Women, we love you! And will see you soon!

Corona Virus Update 005: Weekly Services Moving Online
Friday, March 13 at 11:45PM

SERVICE UPDATE || In light of the growing national concerns and the request of Governor Kemp to cancel mass gatherings and prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the leadership of Compassion Christian Church has decided to host all of our services online.

Starting this weekend, we will be moving our services to a live, online church-at-home experience. You’ll be able to participate in worship, pray together and hear a message from Pastor Cam as we continue our “Generation to Generation” series.

As things develop, we will continue to keep you updated on our plans and as to when our normal weekend services will resume. If someone asks why your church chose to respond to this health crisis by closing its doors, here’s our response:

  1. Our physical doors may be closed, but our church is not. (You can find us online throughout the week!)
  2. We are loving our neighbors by protecting our neighbors.
  3. We are not being fearful. We are being responsible.
  4. This is what love requires of us in this season.

For now, keep yourselves healthy and we’ll see you online this weekend! We love you guys!

Corona Virus Update 006: On-Campus Discipleship Groups / Classes
Saturday, March 14 at 5:50PM

COMMUNITY || “So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Many have reached out and asked if both on-campus and off-campus classes, bible studies and groups are canceled during this time. As of right now, we are NOT canceling these gatherings since they are not considered “mass gatherings.”

This is a time for you to get with a small group of people, PRAY together, and respond to what God is revealing to us! We encourage you during this time to seek community. If you are feeling that you are not able to join, Facetime or Skype those in your groups to continue the growth and love of those who spiritually uplift you.
