Hurricane Harvey Relief - Compassion Christian Church
As you know, Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area very hard.
Here is how our church is already working to provide much-needed assistance:
Because of the on-going generosity of our people here at Compassion Christian, we are able to send funds now to organizations we know, trust and respect to provide immediate assistance. We are in communication with Samaritan’s Purse. In the past we have sent work crews to disaster sites in partnership with Operation Blessing, and we will do so again as soon as it is safe and effective. International Disaster Emergency Services is another worthy partner of ours who is already on site.
In addition to regular tithes and offerings, there are several ways people can provide even more help to those in urgent need:

Give through New Hope Church in the Houston area. New Hope is a great church that is very similar to Compassion Christian. Pastor Tim Liston is a strong leader who has spoken at Compassion in the past. New Hope is a very trustworthy ministry through which we can send financial help. NewHopeChurch.tv
Please don’t drop off clothes, diapers, food or water. We don’t have a way to get those supplies to the people in need. As those opportunities open, we’ll let you know.
We are planning a disaster relief trip to Texas in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse Sept. 30 – Oct. 8. If you’re interested in taking part, come to an information meeting 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, in Volunteer Central at Henderson Campus. Click here for more information. At this meeting we’ll also discuss Compassion Christian’s response if Hurricane Irma directly harms the Savannah area and plans to assist in disaster relief if it causes damage along the East Coast. If you’re unable to attend in person, you can watch the live stream on our Facebook page.
